    introduction

The human body is the forefront through which one faces the world and interacts with others. Reenacting history_ Collective Actions and Everyday Gestures is an international exhibition that sheds light on cases of social performativity of the human body since the 1960s. It focuses on how bodily gestures can reveal social, historical and cultural contexts and interests. The exhibition includes performances that question the relationship between the human body and the environment, the boundaries between oneself and others, the body that reconstructs the collective memory of certain cultures, as well as works that express the inherent ideologies in daily activities through bodily gestures. Performances that react to the problems of modern society deriving from globalism and to the human body that "performs" to create social solidarity and a sense of community are also reconstructed through photography, video images and on-site performances.
