Residency
MMCA Residency was founded in Changdong, Seoul in 2002 and in Goyang, Gyeonggi in 2004, to serve as a platform for creative discourses and to promote Korean Art globally.
The artists in residence, selected through various residency programs, are able to experiment and explore new possibilities in a productive work environment. In addition, MMCA Residency has built global networks by partnering with leading residencies around the world and facilitated exchanges between artists and professionals, including curators and scholars from various fields, to expand the horizon of artists’ practice.

Art Bank
Art Bank was established in February 2005 to support the growth of Korea’s art and culture scene, stimulate the art market and promote the people’s cultural rights.
Art Bank purchases quality artwork through various routes and rents and exhibits them at government institutions, culture and arts organizations, and companies so that they can be enjoyed by the greater public. Select artworks are displayed at overseas government offices, promoting Korean contemporary art all over the world.
Government Art Bank
Government Art Bank was established in October 2012 to efficiently and professionally manage artwork acquired by government bodies for promoting the peoples’ cultural rights.
Government Art Bank purchases quality artwork on an yearly basis to meet the needs of various government bodies. Select artworks are rented and exhibited at overseas cultural centers and national institutions, slowly transforming government offices and institutions into public galleries where everyone is welcome to enjoy quality artwork. Presenting the works of Korean artists overseas promotes the nation’s contemporary art throughout the globe.
