이번 세미나에서는 한국의 페미니즘 예술
실천 속 ‘수행성’에 관한 연구를 공유합니다. 퍼포먼스와 수행적 매체가 어떻게 역사를 새롭
게 쓰고, 우리가 인식하고 기억하고 상상하는 방식에 새로운 가능성을 열어줄 수 있는지 이
야기 합니다. 발표 후에는 허호정 뮤지엄헤드 큐레이터와 함께 한국의 동시대 페미니스트
예술 실천과 퍼포먼스에 대한 대담이 이어집니다.

페미니즘 예술 실천에서의 신체의 수행성과 시간성
이번 세미나에서 미와 네고로는 한국의 페미니즘 예술 실천 속 수행성에 관한 자신의 연구
일부를 공유한다. 그는 신체를 살아 있는 아카이브로 바라보며, 체화된 제스처가 재현, 생명
정치, 주체성과 교차하는 지점을 탐구한다. 퍼포먼스와 수행적 매체가 어떻게 역사에 개입하
고 이를 다시 서술하는지를 다루고, 이를 통해 인식·기억·상상에 대한 대안적 가능성을 제시
하고자 한다.
미와 네고로(1989년생)는 빈과 베를린을 기반으로 활동하는 일본 출신 독립 큐레이터이자
연구자이다. 수행성, 탈식민적 사고, 근대성, 교차적 페미니즘 관점을 통한 역사 다시쓰기에
깊은 관심을 두고, 전시 기획부터 연구, 드라마투르기, 글쓰기, 번역에 이르기까지 다양한 활
동을 하고 있다. 2019년부터 2021년까지 취리히의 온큐레이팅 프로젝트 스페이스
(OnCurating Project Space) 기획위원으로 활동했으며, 현재 여성 예술가 아카이브와 전시
연구 기관인 AWARE의 편집 코디네이터로도 활동 중이다.

MMCA Residency Seminar 01
MMCA is holding a seminar presented by Miwa Negoro, one of the research fellow of
the MMCA International Researcher Residency Program 2025. In this seminar, she will
share her study on performativity in feminist artistic practices in Korea. The presentation
will explore how performance and performative media intervene in and re-narrate
histories, thereby opening up alternative possibilities for knowing, remembering, and
imagining. The presentation will be followed by a discussion on contemporary feminist
art practice and performance in Korea with Hur Hojeong, curator of Museumhead.

"Performativity and Temporality of Bodies in Feminist Artistic Practice"
In this seminar, resident researcher Miwa Negoro will share part of her research on the
performativity in feminist art practice in Korea, considering bodies as a living archive
where embodied gestures intersect with representation, biopolitics, and agency. The
presentation will discuss how performance and performative medium intervene in and
re-narrate histories and thus hold the potential for alternative ways of knowing,
remembering, and imagining.
Miwa Negoro (b.1989) is a Japanese independent curator and researcher based in
Vienna and Berlin. With a keen interest in the discourse of performativity, decolonial
thinking, modernity, and re-narration of histories through intersectional feminist
perspectives, her work varies from exhibition-making to artistic research, dramaturgy,
writing, and translation. She was a curatorial board member of OnCurating Project Space
in Zurich (2019–2021) and is an editorial coordinator at AWARE: Archives of Women
Artists Research & Exhibitions.
