《Facing the Flat world》introduces six overseas artists who have been in the MMCA Goyang Residency in 2019 through International Residency Exchange Program. Since 2004, MMCA Residency Goyang associates with leading overseas institutions to support counter-change program to extend Korean artists' promotion. This year, seven institutions from five countries including Taiwan, Germany, Singapore, Japan and Canada exchanged artists like Monica Lopez De Victoria (Bauhaus Dessau Foundation), Sonja Sofia Yakovleva (Basis_Frankfurt), Xuan-Zhen Liao (Taipei Artist Village), Aneta Kajzer (Künstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral), Arthur Desmarteaux (Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec), Hirofumi Masuda (Arts Maebashi).
On 9 August(Fri), the opening day of the exhibition, there will be Studio Open events in which 6 international artists participate and open up their spaces to visitors.
