《Peace Art : ON》is a theme-based planned exhibition to be held in the outdoor space of MMCA Seoul, under the K-art project initiative that is aimed at promoting Korean art to the rest of the global community. It will shed light on the traces before the modern era that did not fully surface around the premise of MMCA Seoul. The exhibition deals with the well lot near Jongchinbu (Office of Royal Genealogy), nurse-tree and Joonghak Stream, which has been covered up as well as other spaces that have been perceived as peripheral. By awakening the traces of hidden soil, objects as historic evidences and their locational narratives using the language of contemporary art, the exhibition contemplates on the significance and historic nature of the museum’s site and built environment. It is an outdoor installation project designed for winter to increase chances of visitor participation in experiencing the museum’s environment in multiple and sensuous means.
