Flash: Images Left Behind is an exhibition by the MMCA Residency Goyang that introduces six artists from five different countries who have stayed in Korea as resident artists for its International Residency Exchange Program. Since 2005, the MMCA Residency Goyang has collaborated with prestigious institutions in many countries and has assumed the role of a medium in cultural interchanges through this program. As of 2016, the residency is hosting a program to exchange artists with seven institutes from Taiwan, Germany, Japan, Canada, and Australia and support their creative activities.

Alluding to a phenomenon that leaves images with the sudden, brief, and intense display of light, "flash" in the exhibition title refers to the effect the six artists with different cultural backgrounds have created while staying at the residency for three months. Despite the short period of time, they have left behind intense meanings, images, and afterimages that are now being expressed through the form of sculpture, photography, video, and installation works. The exhibition is expected to motivate further mutual communication and exchanges among diverse cultures.
