‘The More The Better’ Reopening Ceremony «Reconnection»
Paik Nam June’s installation The More The Better is soon being returned to public display after three years of restoration work. It is the largest artwork ever created by Paik, a prominent pioneer in the field of video art who was known for his creative engagement with technology. This installation was first switched on at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Gwacheon on September 15, 1988.
Thirty-four years after its initial display, The More The Better will be reinstalled at a ceremony on September 15, 2022 which is the first among the celebratory events the museum is preparing for a “Paik Nam June festival” in commemoration of the 90th anniversary of Paik’s birth. The reintroduction ceremony will provide an excellent opportunity to initiate viewers into the work of Nam June Paik that the museum intents to present through the festival.
